Rhythmic Movement Training

FRhythmic Movement Training International (RMTi)

Rhythmic Movement Training™ (RMT) is a movement based, primitive (infant or neo-natal) reflex integration program using developmental movements, gentle isometric pressure and self-awareness to rebuild the foundations necessary to help overcome learning, sensory, emotional and behavioural challenges.

RMT is based on the work of Kerstin Linde, who used developmental movement therapy in Sweden from the 1970’s to great affect across a broad spectrum of clients with developmental, motor planning, learning,  sensory and emotional challenges. RMT assists in integrating the retained, or underdeveloped, infant reflexes (also called primitive reflexes or neo-natal reflexes) and establishing postural reflexes, linked to learning challenges such as ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, writing problems, focusing and comprehension challenges, co-ordination difficulties and Asperger’s Syndrome. It has also been successful in working with people with anxiety, panic, emotional imbalances, behavioural problems, schizophrenia, Parkinson’s, psychosis, PTSD, emotional resilience and memory.

Evonne has accredited to teach a variety of RMTi courses for to parents, carers, teachers, kinesiologist, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Osteopaths, Exercise Physiologists, Body Workers ( Massage, Pilates, Yoga etc), Psychologists, Social Workers and Counselors  and many more professionals who work with and for infants, children and adults in allied health. Key to her training is ensuring the material is relevant to the needs of all participants to maximise their experience and outcomes for their family, clients and students.

Evonne offers RMTi Courses and other training across Australia, New Zealand & Asia. If your interested in RMTi training but can’t see a date or location to suit contact Evonne to have a training near you.

RMT is suitable for all ages and abilities.  Attend RMTi courses whether for general interest, for self support or parents /carers, professional development and training pathways for interested in certification as a recommended RMTi Practitioner or Instructor visit www.rhythmicmovement.org  for research, case studies and testimonials.

EiB Primitive Reflexes

Training

Primitive Reflexes refer to specific set of innate movement patterns initiating in-utero, and generally integrate within the first year after birth. For more detailed understanding click on the Neurodevelopment  and Primitive Reflex buttons in the upper right corner.

Evonne offers opportunity for both customised seminars for schools, parent and professional groups from information and impacts on learning posture emotions to applications within clinical settings such  streamlining existing clinic practice applications, improve outcomes and developing home or rehabilitation programs.

If you or your organisation is interested in having n addition to offering talks, seminars and professional development Evonne offers two workshops for self discovery and creating change

  • The Shape of You ( Primitive Reflexes, Postures & Patterns)
  • Embracing Change
  • Baby Moves

These workshops have no prerequisites and blend well for self care, and work applications.

Looking forward to sharing more information about unlocking the possibilities with Reflex Integration.

Movement to Learn

Seminar

The Move to Learn movement program is the brain child of Barbara Pheloung, a passionate educator offering low cost little equipment not much space solutions for children and adults with learning challenges for immediate at home, in school or clinic situations.

Move to Learn like all EiB approaches addresses the underlying functional deficits that children with various learning difficulties & helping mature the vestibular system, integrate retained primitive reflexes that should normally have disappeared by the time a child is attending school.

A simple program comprising of a warm up and 9 simple movement sequences it covers all the essentials that every child needs to establish an effective foundation for academic learning, and in the right order.

Ignition Series

Training

Evonne Bennell and Terry Collinson of Stillness Training presents the Ignition & Movement Series.

The Ignition & Movement series explores a number of themes such as the developing embryo, primitive reflexes, birth and the outside world through theory, experiential work, meditation and therapeutic practise.
The I &M series has been developed by Evonne Bennell and Terry Collinson, a Biodynamic Craniosacral therapist, and a senior tutor of the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy training organisation, Stillness Trainings.

Each module of the Ignition & Movement series is a standalone module yet the whole series will cover many aspects of our early development in physical, emotional, and energetic contexts. Though offered as a post graduate course for cranio sacral therapists and CST students, I & M could be continuing education to a variety of therapists. Currently we are offering two workshops: Womb World, Primitive Reflexes, creating our potential and Primitive Reflexes and the outside world.

Training

Ignition and Movement Workshop One

16 hours

No Pre-requisites

Learning Outcomes:

Womb World ~ Primitive Reflexes, creating our potential.  (two days)

The first in our series, is an experiential journey of the embryo, the developing brain and central nervous system, and the intrinsic role the role the primitive reflexes play in preparing the baby for birthing and life beyond the womb.

Course has craniosacral, embryology, and neurodevelopmental themes.

Practical applications

  • Students will gain a deep understanding of:
  • Experiential embryology Meditations and contact
  • Ignition of developmental movement patterns
  • Enhance contact skills of child development through a broadened field of attention to support babies in womb world and beyond.

Cost

$400 AUD

Ignition and Movement Workshop Two

14 hours

No Pre-requisites

Learning Outcomes:

Primitive Reflexes ~ and the outside world. (three days)

The second of our series considers the primitive reflexes and their role in assisting baby to adapt to gravity, muscle tone and muscle organisation guiding the infant through the three dimensional developmental platforms from the floor, rolling crawling and finally walking; social and emotional development.

Practical applications
Participants will gain an understanding of the role of primitive reflexes in physical and emotional development. Students will be able to identify underlying retained primitive reflexes through observational skills, client history; awareness through field of attention and somatic processes. Explore developmental movement as a support for ongoing integration and supporting efficient whole brain and body organisation.
